Amazing

The first time I saw your name in the author's list, I turned off my TV and put my full attention to the screen. The first few times I watched it, I was merely awed by the flawless fbf and the fact that you finally made a movie again. But around the 6th time watching I realized there was so much more than just animation. If you notice the backgrounds, mostly everything was made in flash. First time around, I had assumed it was made in photoshop or painter or something. But then I looked deeper into the backgrounds, thinking it was Illustrator because it was vector based. But I soon noticed that the backgrounds were made in flash with its trademark brushstokes. This unbelievable detail in the background is what struck me with this movie. Incredible work! Well, besides the background, obviously the fbf was amazing and the style in general was flawless. As soon as I saw your comment, I looked "Mickey Mousing" (as well as like 100,000 other people) and I noticed you did that very well. Thanks, I can't wait till you release something new because you are such an inspiration. Btw, I liked your little japanese comment, I'm japanese so I could literally "continue watching" <--Ha ha.

not bad..

I really love your style, good use of easing. But besides the animation, honestly, what really caught my attention the most was your effective use of typography. You always seem to be on point with what font to use. I personally didn't think this episode was that funny. It was very weak humor, and it just didn't get across to me.

seems like basic rotoscoping..

this movie seems to be getting a lot more attention than it should. I'm not making any assumptions, but based on my flash experience, it just seems like crappy monochrome rotoscoping. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, because I've seen rotoscoping used very effectively in movies; "Play" by Dustball for example. But this seemed very sloppy. Yes, it did capture the essence of the trailer but also, it was too sketchy and seemed too much like you were trying to pull it off as your own original work. Good luck with your next movie though..

Nice Art!

I do believe that the Paladin series is very accomplished and in no way am I saying this movie was bad but there were a few quirks. First of all, the overuse of flash 8 effect (blur) was way too excessive and quite tasking, making my computer lag. Sure, it looks great in some spots but some effects are not necessary, like a blur transition is not very practical. My next problem was your photoshop effects. You used render-> clouds too much in my opinion. I think that the cloud effect can be seen as novice in this caliber of film. There are plenty of ways to make cloud effects in PS, and that happens to be the worst. My next problem is not too big but it was a bit annoying at parts: the use of the flame MC. I thought you could mix it up a bit by maybe making 2 or 3 flame movieclip's because it looks kind of weird when they sync up like that. My final problem was your tween animation in the fighting scene. I was confused why you spent all that time perfecting every detail and didn't work on the skeleton walking animation. No offense, but it seemed kind of cheap, the way their legs slanted and was out of perspective.
Now, onto the 'good' of the movie. The art was definitley spectacular, just a comment, maybe work on your gradiants a little bit. You had good shading and good animation, and made good detailed animations throughout the whole film. The sound effects, i wasn't too pleased with, but the voice-acting was pretty top notch. I loved the character and personality you gave to the bird, it was a good comical relief. You had some great bits of animation in there, i was surprised with the detailed lip-syncing. You used a good amount of facial expressions and moved/stretched the head accordingly. The sound quality was a little low, but I could see why, the file size was pretty big as it was. Yea, those are my two cents. Overall, good job!

what a shame..

this movie had so much potential and just when it was getting good, it was just kinda "huh? it ended?" Your style was great, and it very well suited your animation. I loved how the character gave a lot of gestures rather than just talking, it gave a lot of attitude to his personality. The whole "lyric text" scene was surprisingly well made, even though you used the preset flash 8 effects, it still looked quite professional. Good job I enjoyed it, but seriously, if you had just pushed a week or two more and finished the entire song, there could have been a possible daily spot for you.

Very nice..

And obvious fan of Adam Phillips, very influenced by his artwork. Though I thought your visuals were quite stunning and you obviously put a lot of hours into this, I noticed that your animation style was very "jolty" like it kinda came out in bursts. Also, many objects I felt were too static. There were many instances when he would, for example, touch a bush and it would just sit there as if it were made out of plastic. I kind of felt that the animation would have been more powerful if you didn't have any sound effects because the music itself was pretty beautiful as it was, and that one scene where he talks to the alien with the crappy mic was quite dissapointing. However, I defenitley loved the backgrounds, good work. Yup, just some things to think about, but overall I enjoyed it.

Very dissapointing...

Personally, I think the first one owned and you should've stopped there. It was so quick with such simply great jokes. Its as if you've just been pulling the new one's out of your ass to raise your batting average. The humor was pretty much gone, the only smirk i got was the mummy talking, cuz he sounded so god damn retarded. My request is that you stop this series and just try to make another one hit wonder. On top of that, the animation and graphics are getting worse. I'm pretty sure you used some PS in the first one, but this looked like you didn't even put any thought into making it look nice. I admit, I'm a big fan of your original; i guess the second one wasnt bad but it dropped. Don't get me wrong, I don't think you are a bad animator, but this is stooping pretty low. Please don't take this as harassing you, because I'm just being critical. Thanks

I can understand your point of view. Just don't judge the series on this episode, it's just a holiday ep done pretty quickly. It's not a sign of where the series is headed. This episode is just a quick diversion.

Hell, to be honest, I pulled episode 1 out of my ass. I tried harder with episode 2, and got a much bigger reaction than #1, so I think I'm on the right track.

But I respect your opinion, because you have valid things to say rather than just bashing me.

Pretty awesome..

I thought this collab was overall pretty good, but i just had one flaw. First off, the first thing i noticed was that the intro says "Beyong Gaming." It's incredibley obvious and should have been fixed. Also, i thought that the whole space bar thing got annoying. I liked the layout of the first beyond gaming collab more. But overall the animation and stuff was great, i especially liked greedom's entry, very clever!

Your japanese needs work

Although, i know you are a student, just one suggestion. Some words/phrases do not have the same connotation in japanese that it may in english. For example, when you say beat up or "kick ass" you say something like: "oshiri o keru" that literally means kick butt, but that does not have the same meaning in japan. So just keep that in mind. Your animation was good though and very good graphics.

Good stuff...

Although the concept of this was kind of repetitive, it was almost mesmerizing. Amazing graphics and style, would make an excellent screen saver.
